Maajaam: ‘Wild Bits’ Residency and Technological Art Outdoor Exhibition 2026 (Estonia)

Title of the call with an image of a hand and a wooden shaped object in an outside space.

Through this open call, the technological art farm Maajaam, Estonia, is seeking proposals for installations, interventions, or processes to be placed in natural landscapes that explore the human condition in a contemporary technological society.

The residency duration at Maajaam is approximately three weeks, depending on the production plan. The dates are 15 June to 5 July or 17 August to 9 September 2026.

During the residency, artists will be expected to produce their artwork using the workspaces and available tools. The artworks should be able to withstand outdoor conditions. Maajaam encourages artists to consider energy-sustainable solutions, such as alternative sources (e.g., solar panels), and to be as economical as possible.

The produced works will remain in the possession of Wild Bits and Maajaam until 2028. By participating in this open call, the artist agrees that their works may also be displayed in satellite exhibitions co-organised or co-curated by Wild Bits.

Maajaam can accommodate and cover the travel costs of up to two people. If there are additional people in the artist group who are crucial to the execution of the artwork, Maajaam will seek to negotiate an appropriate solution.

The selected projects will receive accommodation, two meals per day, an artist’s fee of 3,000 EUR (per collective, gross salary, all taxes included), a production budget of up to 5,000 EUR and travel budget of 350 EUR per person within Europe and up to 700 EUR for artists traveling from outside the EU.
