The ‘Roots and Routes’ Residence 2026 is an open call for artists to take part in a residency in Gjirokastra Castle and Luzat village, Albania, within the framework of the MON-ART ‘Monasteries of Art’ project. The residency invites participants to engage with local heritage, communities and landscapes through artistic practice.

Across three distinct routes—from a drifting boat residency through the canals of France to a cycling expedition connecting Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest—participants engage in a tapestry of experiences.
