Trenčín 2026: TrenAir Residency 2026 (Slovakia)

Title of the call repeated.

As part of Trenčín’s European Capital of Culture 2026 programme, Trenčín 2026 is opening a new opportunity for international artists to come to Trenčín and experience the city during this autumn season.

TrenAir invites artists from abroad to spend time in Trenčín, immerse themselves in its atmosphere, develop their work, and become part of a city undergoing an extraordinary cultural transformation. The residencies are thematically connected to the four programme lines of Trenčín 2026:

  • Curiosity as cultural memory, identity, and public space
  • Curiosity as ecological responsibility
  • Curiosity as equality, solidarity, and care
  • Curiosity as an impulse for new stories

TrenAir is currently offering one-month residencies for international professional artists working in the fields of visual arts, architecture, urbanism, place-making, literature, music, film, video. The residencies will take place in September, October and November 2026. Each residency is linked to a public outcome – workshops, presentations, or exhibition after the residency.

The programme is open to artists with permanent residence outside the Slovak Republic who are residents of European Union member states.

Each selected resident will receive a stipend of 1,300 EUR, for covering per diems, material expenses, and travel costs. For projects involving higher production costs or long-distance travel, additional support may be discussed individually. Residents will be accommodated in the TrenAir Residency House.
