  • News / ShUM: Artist in Residence (Germany)

    The organisation SchUM is leading the process to nominate the Jewish communities of Speyer, Worms and Mainz as a UNESCO World Heritage site. In connection with this, they are offering up to three project fellowships for the realisation of an artistic project that addresses the history of the ShUM communities and their religious, cultural and architectural legacy. The residency will last for 4 to 6 weeks and is scheduled between October 2021 and February 2022 (start date in 2021).

    Making Tracks is an environmentally-focused international music exchange programme, based around an annual UK residency and tour. They bring together exceptional artists to showcase diverse music, initiate new collaborations and explore strategies for music-based environmental engagement. Due to uncertainties around COVID-19, in 2021 Making Tracks is only open to applicants based in the UK and other European countries.

  • News / EMX: Call for Hosts for International Delegation Tour

    The International Delegation Tour (or IDT) call is part of a project, funded by the European Commission, called EMX. The EMX project’s aim is to test new strategies to develop and promote the export of European Music, and is seeking applications from a consortium of music-related organisations from at least two different EU countries, which will organise – with their advice and financial support – a week-long event in the first half of 2022.

  • News / Open Call for the S+T+ARTS AI & Music Festival (Spain)

    The S+T+ARTS AI and Music Festival 2021 has launched an international call for projects dedicated to AI and music led by Sónar and UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya). Aimed at musicians, researchers and AI specialists, the festival is searching for performances, tools and software, and research and co-creation projects that explore the intersections between music of all genres and Artificial Intelligence. The selected projects will be showcased at the S+T+ARTS AI & Music Festival which will take place in Barcelona 27 & 28 October 2021.

  • News / Radio Art Residency Weimar (Germany)

    The Radio Art Residency is an international fellowship programme for artistic practice on the radio. The next residency will take place from 15 September to 15 December 2021. The programme is for artists working in the field of acoustic and time-based arts (radio, performance and sound artists). Applications are open to artists from non-German speaking countries without residence in Germany.

  • News / Unsound Festival: Open Call for ‘dəəp authentic’ (Poland / Remote)

    Unsound Festival in Poland has announced its 2021 theme ‘dəəp authentic’ with a call for applications from artists, writers, theorists and activists, with a focus on presentations that blur the line between discourse and performance. Work can be presented in person in Krakow or remotely. The festival will take place between 13-17 October 2021.

    IDA Radio is offering a sound residency for musicians, music producers and sound artists coming from the Baltic States and Nordic countries. Four artists will be selected who will work together for two months in September and October 2021 in different parts of Estonia.

  • News / Goethe-Institut: International Coproduction Fund

    The Goethe-Institut's International Coproduction Fund is intended for coproductions by artists in the fields of theatre, dance, music and performance art, in which hybrid and interdisciplinary formats and the use of digital media may be key components. The target group comprises professional artists and ensembles abroad and in Germany, which demonstrably lack sufficient resources to realise their coproduction project on their own. Projects between German and non-European partners, in particular from transition countries, are preferred.

    Future Female Sounds are inviting applications to join in the European Female DJ Summit. This two day summit focused exclusively on female and gender minority DJs (non-binary, trans women, trans men and femme-identifying) from the European Union, will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark 9-11 June 2021.     The project JaWo Music Residencies will invite 20 emerging musicians/authors connected to the European jazz / world music scene to take part in a programme of online training and exchange, as well as a physical residency in Benevento, Italy, from April 2021 - March 2022. Applicants must be residing in Europe and must belong to a disadvantaged group – as a migrant, having economic or social disadvantage, etc.

  • News / Moving Classics: Sonic Flux: ‘Defrosting’ Commission for a Scotland-based Musician, Composer or Sound Artist (Norway)

    The Defrosting project (part of Moving Classics: Sonic Flux) is an opportunity for a musician, composer or sound artist to create the audio for a 10-13 minute film during a residency in Svalbard, Norway in 2021. The piece will respond to themes of displacement and climate change. Applications are open to artists of any UK/EU/EEA nationality living and working in Scotland.

    The third IMPALA Campus digital workshop is taking place on 17 May 2021, in partnership with Mastering the Music Business. Ten selected participants will receive high level training by music industry experts on the following topics: Merchandising, Brand Partnerships, Overview of the Music Industry Ecosystem, Data Insights, Digital Marketing.   • News / Footprints: Call for Music Artists for Workshop Programme and Touring (Poland)

    Footprints – Sustainable Music Across Europe is addressed to young and motivated artists willing to develop their artistic and entrepreneurial skills as well as develop their touring and networking capacity. 50 participants will be selected to take part in the Intl Jazz Platform summer workshop in Lodz (17-22 July 2021), out of which 6 participants will be selected to take part in the Footprints international tours and mentoring programme.
