The organisation SchUM is leading the process to nominate the Jewish communities of Speyer, Worms and Mainz as a UNESCO World Heritage site. In connection with this, they are offering up to three project fellowships for the realisation of an artistic project that addresses the history of the ShUM communities and their religious, cultural and architectural legacy. The residency will last for 4 to 6 weeks and is scheduled between October 2021 and February 2022 (start date in 2021).

With ‘Sonic Experiments’, the ZKM | Hertz-Lab awards scholarships for composers with a focus area in the field of electronic music and sound art as part of its artist-in-residency programme. The duration of the residency for realising the production at ZKM | Karlsruhe should be 4 weeks. Possible dates for the residencies are between mid-September and the presentation at the end of October 2023.

In the framework of LIVEMX, a new EU funding project managed by INOVA+, EMEE and Live DMA, and under the supervision of their teams, the communication and production assistant will support the implementation of a capacity building programme and calls for funding to support live music venues and music export strategies in Europe.

OneBeat Ghana is now accepting applications for socially engaged artist-entrepreneurs from Ghana, Nigeria and the U.S. (ages 19-35) to participate in an intensive 2-week residency from 6-20 November 2023. The Ghana-based program will convene 11-12 artists from all 3 countries to exchange and build strategies for stronger artist communities and creative economies in the region.

With the newly established project Dialekt - An exploration of international co-creation in audiovisual artistic expression and performance, three partners across three countries come together in order to present a call-out for artists to travel, develop a project in residency, and perform at each location – at Sound Art Lab in Struer, Denmark, Inkonst in Malmö, Sweden, and Eastern Bloc in Montreal, Canada. Individuals residing in Denmark, Sweden, and in the province of Quebec can apply.

The 3rd edition of the Sounds Now Curating Diversity Course takes place in Oslo at Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival from 19-23 September 2023 and will be led by Sounds Now Associated Artists meLê yamomo and Irene Revell. Aspiring as well as experienced cultural professionals with a proven interest in musical programming that goes beyond received stereotypes of genre, and who conceive of their work as engaged with critical issues of social diversity and inclusion, are invited to apply.

7th Extinction is an international artistic residency project focused on the most pressing issues of evolution, extinction and environmental crisis. This open call is for musicians, music producers, and visual artists (VJs, video producers, visual creatives) between 18-35 years old who are resident or domiciled in Portugal or Germany. Selected applicants will join an educational programme (in Italy, Portugal and Germany) September - December 2023, and an artistic residency spread over a 2-week period at 3 different points in 2024.

Mophradat is collaborating with MaerzMusik in Berlin on a special residency programme open to musicians, composers, producers, sound, and interdisciplinary artists to work collaboratively with the Berlin-based Ensemble Adapter on new work to be presented at MaerzMusik festival in 2024. There will be two working sessions with the ensemble from 15 November – 15 December 2023 and 1 February – 25 March 2024. Applicants must be composers from or living in the Arab world.

The TBCK Forward residency programme focuses on women artists and cultural professionals from Central and Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia). This call is for residencies in two programmes:

The project ‘RENMUS - Renewable Music - V4 Composers for Sustainability’ invites composers from the Visegrad Group countries to apply for commissions to create new work that will be performed at four different concerts (in Warsaw, Prague, Bratislava, and Budapest). Selected composers will also join a programme of workshops and masterclasses from June – September 2024.

The Bridging Career Take-Off Programme BCTO is designed for DJs-producers, sound artists, sound producers and electronic musicians, musicians with digital music practices, and has both an offline and an online component. Applicants should be resident and/or a citizen of one of the partner countries of the project - Tunisia, France, and Albania.

Les Lundis d’Hortense organises a whole range of activities, including more than 100 concerts per season. They currently have several calls for concert series and touring activities in Brussels and Wallonia during 2024.
