The Video Mapping Awards open call invites creators of audiovisual video mapping works to submit to a competition taking place as part of the Video Mapping Festival #9. This opportunity culminates in a public presentation and awards ceremony in Lille, France, on 11 April 2026 and is aimed at recognising the best video mapping productions from 2025.
Organised by the association Rencontres Audiovisuelles, the Video Mapping Awards form part of a wider festival that includes the IBSIC – Image Beyond the Screen International Conference and an opening weekend of screenings and events in Lille 9–11 April 2026.
The competition focuses on ‘video mapping’, defined as an audiovisual creation using images projected on one or more volumes; submissions that are simply projections on screens or light installations are not eligible. Works must have been publicly shown during 2025 to qualify for the competition.
This call supports the screening and promotion of selected video mapping works to both the general public and a professional jury. Awards will be presented for several categories, including Grand Prize, Prize for Best Sound Design, Innovation Prize, Emerging Artist Prize and Prize for Best Immersive Work. Prizes are honorary.
The competition is open to anyone who has created or produced a video mapping work. To qualify as an ‘emerging artist’, applicants should have less than three years’ experience in video mapping and no more than three professional works produced.
Selected participants will have their accommodation in Lille covered for 10 and 11 April 2026, receive a lump-sum contribution towards travel costs depending on origin, and be offered accreditation to attend IBSIC from 9–11 April 2026.
