La Maison Baldwin’s residency fellowships, in partnership with residencies located in the vibrant heartlands of France, the eclectic landscapes of the American South, and the urban energy of Harlem and Paris, enable a journey of creative discovery.
La Maison Baldwin honours the locations around the world that impacted Baldwin’s life and work. Inspired by James Baldwin’s global legacy, these residency partnerships are intended to nurture creativity, foster intellectual exchanges, and amplify the voices of Black writers in the world.
The residencies are for emerging and established writers to explore their creativity and connect with others. The application also asks how James Baldwin has influenced applicants as a writer, including the connection to his life and work.
