    Founded in 1973, Garth Newel Music Center is one of the most active chamber music organizations in the USA. Its resident ensemble – the Garth Newel Piano Quartet – performs over 60 concerts annually both at the Center and on tour. Through this competition, the Quartet seeks to broaden the piano quartet repertoire and to support the Center’s ongoing commitment to contemporary music.

    News / Princeton University: Princeton Arts Fellowship (United States)

    Princeton Arts Fellows spend two consecutive academic years (September 1 - July 1) at Princeton University and formal teaching is expected. The normal work assignment will be to teach one course each semester, but fellows may be asked to take on an artistic assignment in lieu of a class, such as directing a play or creating a dance with students. One need not be a U.S. citizen to apply. Holders of Ph.D. degrees from Princeton are not eligible to apply.

    News / ThoughtWorks Arts: Improvising the Net(work) Residency (USA / Remote)

    ThoughtWorks Arts, a global technology research lab, and CounterPulse, an experimental and interdisciplinary dance and performance space in San Francisco, are partnering to launch a new artistic residency opportunity working with a customisable network on-site at CounterPulse’s facility in downtown San Francisco. This sixteen week residency is open to artists and collectives and will run from 27 September 2021 – 4 February 2022. It can be undertaken in person or remotely.

    News / Ginko Bioworks: Ginkgo Creative Residency for Art and Synthetic Biology (USA / Remote)

    A joint initiative spearheaded and curated by Ginkgo Bioworks and design agency Faber Futures, the Ginkgo Creative Residency (GCR) provides an experimental platform for creative thinkers to explore both the potential and implications of synthetic biology. The next residency will run from 1 September – 30 November 2021, and can take place in-person or remotely.

    The International Society for the Performing Arts’ (ISPA) Netherlands Fellowship provides three-year access to ISPA’s extensive international network of arts professionals to three mid-career leaders from the Netherlands’ performing arts community and one mid-career leader from performing arts communities in Egypt, Morocco, Russia, Turkey, or South Africa. Among other benefits, Fellows are supported to attend ISPA's New York Congress.

    LACMA – Los Angeles Country Museum of Art’s Art's Technology Lab supports artists to pursue new directions in their work that explore ideas in technology and culture. In addition to a grant, artists receive advice and assistance from the museum and from innovation leaders from Hyundai, Snap Inc., YouTube Learning, SpaceX, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the MIT Media Lab’s Space Exploration Initiative. The grants are open to individuals and collectives located anywhere in the world.
