Institute for Ideas and Imagination: Fellowship 2027–28 (France)

The Institute for Ideas and Imagination brings together a cohort of up to 15 Fellows, half of them Columbia faculty and post-docs, the other half artists and writers from around the world, to spend a year together in work and conversation.

There are 3 categories:

  • The Columbia University faculty category includes: Columbia tenured and tenure-track faculty, Barnard, and Teacher’s College.
  • The Columbia University post-doctoral category.
  • The creative arts category is for applicants within the creative arts (including visual and sound arts/film/composing/writing) who are not affiliated with Columbia University.

The Fellowship stipend is 75,000 USD for a full academic year at Reid Hall in Paris (September 2027 through May 2028). Fellows have their own office at the Institute, administrative and research support, and access to Columbia’s libraries and various research facilities in Paris and in Europe.
