La Volière: RESONANCE Residency 2025 for Young Emerging Aerial Artists (France)

La Volière art centre in Saint-Nazaire, France is calling for five young emerging aerial artists (aged 18–30) to become part of the aerial art project RESONANCE, a European-funded project under the Creative Europe programme.

The project offers a two-months residency (1 April – 30 May 2025) at La Volière during which the five artists will take part in a collaborative creative process which will culminate in a public performance showcased at the Festival de L’Eau in May.

Saint-Nazaire is a peripheral industrial city, surrounded by water: the ocean, the swamps, the river, the Loire estuary. The residency project is made up of various activities during the two-month period: peer-to-peer workshops/laboratories, personal exploration on water theme, personnal training, collaborative creation process, and networking activities. Beside the collective part of the project, each selected artists will have individual residency time to work on one personal artistic piece. The overall project process is supported by La Volière’ Mentors.

Applicants must be young individual emerging artists (18–30) engaged in a professional path in aerial arts with a contemporary aesthetic. Applicants must also come from one of the countries of the Creative Europe program (except France).

La Volière will provide:

  • Shared accommodation with private bedroom
  • An allowance of 25 EUR per day
  • A mobility grant (350 EUR–700 EUR)
  • Visa expenses
  • Top-up funding for green travel, those from overseas countries and territories or outermost regions, artists with children below the age of 10, or disabled artists needing access support
