    K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg provides three eight-month residencies per season to choreographers, who are currently at the beginning of their career and have produced some choreographic work of their own. The next residency will begin August 2022 and run until April 2023. Over the course of the residency the three choreographers will each develop a full-length piece that is presented at the end of the residency on three evenings.

    Writing About Dance in the Time of Corona is a four-day online seminar (5-8 July 2021) for emerging dance critics that will address the practice of dance criticism, as well challenges and new ideas appearing during the pandemic. The seminar is free and applications are open to everybody, previous experience with writing about dance is not required. The language of the seminar is English.

  • News / culture360.ASEF.org: At Home / Being Home Online Residency for Emerging Artists from Asia and Spain

    At Home/Being Home is an e-residency for young emerging artists from the performing arts, music, film and new media sectors. The residency will consist of a capacity building component and a collaborative component. It will be held online for a period of six weeks (15 September - 29 October 2021) and will offer an opportunity for capacity building, peer learning and collaboration. Four participants from Spain and Asia will be selected through an open call and grouped in pairs. Applicants should be emerging artists between the ages of 18 and 28 with 2 to 4 years in performing arts (theatre, dance, music) or new media and film, with a focus on interdisciplinarity.

  • News / Aerowaves: Open Call for Dance Artists for Aerowaves Twenty

    Each year the Aerowaves network selects 20 of the most promising emerging choreographers in Europe. Aerowaves promotes their work for a year, creating opportunities to perform with their partners. Some artists will also be selected to perform at the next Spring Forward Festival. Choreographers apply to the programme with a short (15-40 min), finished work. Applicants must be resident in Europe and the work you are submitting must have been produced in geographical Europe.

  • News / MedeArts: International Exchange in Theatre for Young Audiences (Jordan)

    MedeArts and ASSITEJ Denmark are calling for participants to an exchange programme in the field of performing arts for children and young people. The exchange will include a 10-day residency in Irbid, Jordan and two preparatory meetings online. It is also the intention that the participants will visit Aprilfestival 2022 in Denmark, but this is still to be financed and confirmed.

    Tokyo Festival Farm is a new framework that brings together all development initiatives within Tokyo Festival, a festival for performing arts. Among its activities are two programmes open to applicants based in Asia: the Farm-Lab Exhibition, which will bring a group of emerging talents together, online and in Tokyo, to create a new performing arts production (September - October 2021), and the Asian Performing Arts Camp, an online programme of collective research.

    The Radio Art Residency is an international fellowship programme for artistic practice on the radio. The next residency will take place from 15 September to 15 December 2021. The programme is for artists working in the field of acoustic and time-based arts (radio, performance and sound artists).     The Nature of Us open call is aimed at artists working and living in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland or Slovakia who are working on a movement or body-based performance project in 2021 or 2022 that confronts art practices with concerns about the environment. Among other forms of support, the project offers a two-week artistic research session in Bratislava, Budapest, Gdansk, or Prague in the second half of 2021 or the first half of 2022.

    The Goethe-Institut's International Coproduction Fund is intended for coproductions by artists in the fields of theatre, dance, music and performance art, in which hybrid and interdisciplinary formats and the use of digital media may be key components. The target group comprises professional artists and ensembles abroad and in Germany, which demonstrably lack sufficient resources to realise their coproduction project on their own. Projects between German and non-European partners, in particular from transition countries, are preferred.

  • News / TanzLabor Ulm: Commissions for Digital Dance Makers (Germany)

    TanzLabor – ROXY Ulm and Artistic Director Pablo Sansalvador are looking to commission five innovative ‘Digital Dance Makers’ to create five varied short choreographic works of 5-8 minutes. The movement of each of the Digital Dance Makers will be recorded through Motion Capture technology. This content will then be transformed into Augmented Reality, allowing each of the Digital Dance Makers to be visible and present within a larger dance installation performance called Tanz mit dem Tiger under the Artistic Direction of Pablo Sansalvador.
