In September 2020, a new artistic and cultural Centre opened in Saint-Nazaire: La Volière. This Centre is dedicated to circus practices with a specificity for aerial disciplines.
As part of its artistic and cultural project, La Volière wishes to support artistic creation by hosting an artistic team for a residency to develop a project in the field of contemporary aerial circus and aerial dance. The team of the selected project will be offered free use of the creation space to work on their creative process and/or to finalise their creative project. The call targets emerging artists.
Residency duration must be between 1 and 2 weeks maximum, either continuously or in split periods. Calendar: between July and August 2023 for a continuous period, or between January and June 2023 for a split period residency.
Depending on the project selected, the dedicated grant will be as follows:
- 1 person in residency: €1500 all tax included.
- 2 persons in residency : €2300 all tax included.
- 3 persons in residency : €3000 all tax included.
The project can be submitted by one artist, a company of artists (max 3 on site), a production or a distribution organisation.
The aesthetic of the project must be contemporary, in the field of aerial circus and/or aerial dance. Proposals should not be technically challenging to be installed.
The project can be submitted by artists or organisations form the following countries:
- France.
- Member Countries of the European Union.
- North African Countries.
- Other: United Kingdom, Canada, United-States, Costa Rica.
