Budapest Dance Hack (BPDH24), taking place from 11 to 15 November 2024 in central Budapest, capital of Hungary, brings together like-minded artists and tech experts to investigate the connection between dance and technology.
Budapest Dance Hack is currently looking for participants. Applications are welcome from artists, coders, designers, musicians, dancers, new circus performers, and more who can demonstrate a commitment to collaboration with a focus on integrating the moving body into their practice.
Under the direction of knowledgeable mentors, participants will collaborate to investigate the technologies offered within a performance setting. On the last day of the programme, there will be a small, invited audience for an informal sharing of ideas.
BPDH24 is part of a larger project realised in partnership with TaikaBox (Finland) and Developing Art (Romania) and co-funded by the European Union. The first stage of the EU Dance Hack project took place in Oulu in May 2024, and the programme’s last destination is with Developing Art in Bucharest in Spring 2025.
As an event providing equal opportunity and accessibility, we welcome applicants with special needs or care responsibilities, and can negotiate resources to support their attendance. The venue for BPDH24 is a ground-floor studio that is wheelchair accessible.
Participants will get reimbursement for their travel expenses in addition to a fee and per diem. Accommodation is provided. (Only slow travel expenses will be reimbursed; traveling with airplane is not accepted.)
