transmediale is calling for applications for its 2026 residency programme.

transmediale e.V. is inviting applications for the Exhibition Curation for transmediale 2027. The exhibition curator’s central responsibility is the development of the upcoming exhibition as part of the festival’s programme.

transmediale, in collaboration with one local and three international partners, is calling for applications for 2025 residents.

transmediale’s Digital Art Residency in cooperation with Pro Helvetia is a two-month hybrid residency, including one month online and one month in Berlin, will take place between July and September 2023. It will be awarded to four artists: two artists from or based in Switzerland, and two artists from any nationality or locality.

The Vilém Flusser Residency Programme for Artistic Research calls for transdisciplinary artistic research projects that explore emerging social concerns in culture. The period of residency is two months, between May and July 2023.

For its next edition transmediale festival is offering two residency programmes – one in cooperation with Pro Helvetia aimed at artists from or based in Switzerland or Eastern Europe and one with the Ministry of the Cultures, Arts and Heritage of Chile and DIRAC aimed at artists from or based in Chile. Both take place take place during August-September 2022.

The 2023 edition of transmediale festival will take place at Akademie der Künste Berlin (Hanseatenweg) during the first week of February. This open call for festival proposals seeks ideas that engage with the festival theme of ‘Scale’ either through the topic or proposed format. The call is open to multiple formats including: algorithms, artworks, bots, discussions, essays, events, experiments, films, lectures, online projects, panels, performances, sound, walks or workshops.

The year-long project What Stays – Archiving Care will explore digital counter-archives and the role of technology in opening up alternative histories and memories. It is launching with an open call for three digital residencies for international artists from any discipline. The residencies will take place remotely between June - September 2021 with the completed work presented online.
