For its next edition transmediale festival is offering two residency programmes – one in cooperation with Pro Helvetia and one with the Ministry of the Cultures, Arts and Heritage of Chile and DIRAC - Division for Cultures, Arts, Heritage and Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
Both residencies set out to explore how scale sets technological conditions and expectations that cement the positions from which we perceive the world and take place during August-September 2022.
The first residency in cooperation with Pro Helvetia will be a two-month hybrid residency awarded to four artists from or based in Switzerland or Eastern Europe. Each two-month residency will be awarded with a monthly artist allowance of €1900, plus per diems, a separate production support, and travel and accommodation costs. The hybrid residency will take place online for the first month (July/August) and in person at transmediale studio in Berlin for the second month (August/September). transmediale studio is a shared working space, with the capacity to produce small scale works, presentations and events.
The second residency in collaboration with the with the Ministry of the Cultures, Arts and Heritage of Chile and DIRAC will be awarded to two artists from or based in Chile. Each resident will be provided with a 1800€ fee per month and be supported with travel and accommodation costs.
