    Spot on Economies focuses on economies as crucial crossroads between social, ecological, and political futures. Over the course of two weeks (1-17 October 2021), PACT Zollverein opens its whole house for a collaborative residential research phase framed by a public programme of notable lectures and workshops. Diverse research groups can apply to share and develop their ideas, questions, and proposals in a transdisciplinary way with other scholars, artists, practitioners and activists.

    The organisation SchUM is leading the process to nominate the Jewish communities of Speyer, Worms and Mainz as a UNESCO World Heritage site. In connection with this, they are offering up to three project fellowships for the realisation of an artistic project that addresses the history of the ShUM communities and their religious, cultural and architectural legacy. The residency will last for 4 to 6 weeks and is scheduled between October 2021 and February 2022 (start date in 2021).

    The Radio Art Residency is an international fellowship programme for artistic practice on the radio. The next residency will take place from 15 September to 15 December 2021.     TanzLabor – ROXY Ulm and Artistic Director Pablo Sansalvador are looking to commission five innovative ‘Digital Dance Makers’ to create five varied short choreographic works of 5-8 minutes. The movement of each of the Digital Dance Makers will be recorded through Motion Capture technology. This content will then be transformed into Augmented Reality, allowing each of the Digital Dance Makers to be visible and present within a larger dance installation performance called Tanz mit dem Tiger under the Artistic Direction of Pablo Sansalvador.

    To mark the 100th birthday of Joseph Beuys and to honour the town twinning between Poland’s capital Warsaw and the state capital Düsseldorf, the curatorial outfit Curated Affairs are pleased to invite two professional artists based in Warsaw to attend a 14 day research residency in Düsseldorf, preferably in July 2021.     LOOK UP 2021 is a collaborative visual arts mentorship programme. Artists will develop new work which will be installed in Leicester, Manchester and Portsmouth as part of Journeys Festival International 2021 (15-25 October), and will take part in two short residencies which will take place between June-August 2021, at Aspex, Portsmouth and coculture, Berlin, and/or online, dependent on COVID travel restrictions. Artists must be Europe-based, under 30, and from a sanctuary-seeking background or with refugee heritage.

    Roxy ULM’s ResearchLab (based in Ulm, Germany) consists of up to four residencies per year. Each residency lasts three weeks and is aimed at supporting dance by nurturing emerging choreographers to realise their ideas from concept to live performance. Young, emerging and established choreographers are welcome to apply. One ResearchLab begins in September 2021 and another in November 2021.

    NEW NOW explores phenomena of our times and will take place for the first time on the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site in Essen from August 27 to October 03, 2021. For five weeks, the landmark of the Ruhr area will be transformed into an open production site for Digital Arts: The festival accompanies artists in the development of their works and invites the public to actively contribute. The Digital Arts serve as a venue for speculation. Here, artists and participants alike have the freedom to imagine and test new visions for the present.
