Living Arts International (Mekong Cultural Hub and Cambodian Living Arts), with SH|FT and ArtsEquator, are calling for applications to host a 90-minute workshop, seminar or other form of interactive session as part of the Safe Havens Meeting 2026 entitled ‘SEA Differently: An Asian Lens on Artistic Freedom’, which will be held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, 2–4 December 2026.
The call is open to artists, cultural practitioners, researchers and cultural rights defenders from Southeast, South and East Asia, working in art and social action. A total of 6 workshop proposals will be selected, with at least 3 from practitioners from Southeast Asia.
The selected workshop facilitators will also be required to participate in three online exchanges with the other workshops hosts.
The Safe Havens Meeting will gather at least 120 individuals, including artists, arts managers, researchers, funders and policymakers from across Asia and internationally, with a programme that will span three days, featuring talks, workshops, exhibition and performances. Topics on the agenda will include: The Cambodia We Want, Reimagining Relocation, and With Whom Are We Building? The meeting plans to focus on what can be done, and how those resources that exist might be deployed in new ways to build up expression and creativity, rather than dealing with crises.
Participants receive a 300 USD unrestricted micro-grant to cover any expenses associated with the workshop and travel and accommodation costs for a maximum of two workshop facilitators to attend the full Safe Havens Meeting.
