Initiated and carried out by 40mcube, in partnership with the company Self Signal, GENERATOR is both a continuing professional development programme dedicated to young visual artists and a residency for curators. Both programmes take place in 40mcube’s spaces in Rennes, France.
GENERATOR selects four visual artists each year, who graduated at least two years ago, and gives them the means to fully focus on their artistic practice for a period of seven months. GENERATOR selects two to four curators each year for a one-month exploratory trip in Brittany.
The professional development programme runs 2 October 2023 – 26 April 2024. It provides:
- Internship grant 5000 euros (before taxes).
- Production costs: 2500 euros (upon presentation of invoices).
- Specific and individualised fundraising.
- Provision of workshop and an equipped collective production platform.
The residency will last one month from 1-30 March 2022. It provides:
- Research allowance: 1200 euros (before tax).
- Transport from and to the usual place of residence (by air or train).
- Accommodation.
- A workspace with Internet connection.
Both programmes are open internationally, with no age limit.
