    STARTS4Water Consortium invites artists to apply for one of the ten residencies that are being launched by its European partners. This call is looking for artists to contribute to the sustainable management of water in a variety of ways through experimental use of and/or critical reflection on digital technologies.

    The Summer Sessions are short-term international art and technology residencies for emerging artists and designers. Artists and designers working with art and technology are eligible to apply if they are under the age of 35 and/or have graduated within the past five years, and live in a country where there is a Summer Sessions sponsoring partner (Netherlands, Taiwan, Spain, Austria, Russia, China, South Korea, Croatia and Belgium). Each Summer Sessions residency lasts approximately eight weeks and takes place between July and September.

    News / FAKI Festival: Open Call for Online or Face-to-face Performance Works on the Theme of Escape (Croatia)

    For its 24th year, FAKI International Festival for Alternative Performance (24-30 May 2021) will gather theatrical artistic gestures around the theme ‘Escape!’ – both in person in Zagreb’s former pharmaceutical factory ‘Medika’ and online. These can be theatre plays, circus, dance, installation, street performance, puppetry, workshops, or totally new forms of expression.

    For Circus Without Circus, 16 individual European artists, 8 from the circus field and 8 from other artistic fields, will be selected for a residency programme aimed at sparking artistic exchange between disciplines by facilitating one-on-one research residencies. Artists who live and/or primarily work in Belgium, Croatia, Denmark or France and who are at the beginning of their career or changing direction in their career can apply. Each participant will take part in two residencies between spring 2021 and summer 2023.

    The CEI Award for Writers in Residence is an award aimed at encouraging cross-border cooperation and promotion in the field of literature for young writers from the CEI Member States (Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine). The award supports the winner to make a one-month stay in a CEI Member State of their choosing, anytime in 2021. Writers from all genres under the age of 35 from the CEI Member States are eligible. Deadline: 15 June 2020.

  • News / International Visual Arts Competition, ‘The Victim of Vukovar 1991’

    The aim of the international visual arts competition The Victim of Vukovar 1991 is to establish a dialogue with contemporary art practices based on the culture of memory and symbolism of war and the suffering of the city of Vukovar. The competition will select four new works of art (that have never been presented to the public) to be exhibited in Zagreb in June 2020. It is open to professional artists (not students) who are EU Member States citizens, working in the field of visual arts. Artists can apply individually, in pairs or as a part of an art collective.
