The Nordic Analog Network is in the process of connecting the Nordic darkroom community to share experience and knowledge across the region. In a series of artist residencies set up as darkroom exchanges, the Nordic darkrooms will invite analogue photo artists to come and work in another country.
An exchange is now being organised in partnership the Finnish Darkroom Association in Helsinki and CYAN studio darkroom in Oslo.
The goal of the exchange is to share experiences, create contacts and open networking options between analogue photo artists. It is open for all Finnish and Norwegian artists working with analogue photography. Based on the applications each darkroom will invite one artist for a residency.
Travel and accommodation is covered and there is a small artist’s fee paid for the artist as well. During their stay the artists are free to work with whatever project they want.
The working period for the Norwegian artist in Helsinki is 1-22 October 2022. Accommodation for the invited artist will be at the Villa Eläintarha, an international artist residency centre in a wooden villa in the centre of Helsinki, next to Töölönlahti bay.
The working period for the Finnish artist in Oslo is three weeks during Oct-Nov 2022. Accommodation for the invited artist will be at the guest apartment of the Norwegian Association of Art Photographers.
