Lugar Futuro – First Works is a showcase of choreographic works by young choreographers who are starting a career in the professional world of dance, framed within the youth dance festival Lugar Futuro which takes place annually and had its first edition in 2020, in the city of Viseu, Portugal. The upcoming festival takes place from 13 to 16 March 2025.
The works to be presented must be one the first choreographic pieces of the participating authors, aged between 18 and 30 years old. These works must have a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 25 minutes. The maximum number of interpreters of each work should be five, and the group may be accompanied by the choreographer or assistant and a technician, for a maximum of seven elements to travel to Viseu, Portugal.
Participation grant for choreographers/groups residents in Portugal is 500 EUR plus travel support within Portugal up to 50 EUR/person, accommodation and meals. Participation grant for choreographers groups living abroad is 500 EUR plus international travel support of up to 500 EUR, accommodation and meals.
