Gaudeamus: Open Call for Interactive Musical Pieces (Online / Netherlands)

Pink squiggly lines on a purple background.

Gaudeamus Festival in Utrecht is looking for composers, coders, artists and creatives working in the fields of sound, interactive design and coding to collaborate on creating hybrid online/offline works. These will appear on Screen Dive, an online platform for interactive musical pieces, as well as in real life in Utrecht.

Inspired by Swarming Insects, Schooling Fish and Flocking Starlings, Screen Dive’s new open call invites you to move together as a collective, to create within a team, a piece that spills out from the screen into the streets and alleyways and back again. Ideas are welcomed that follow and directly engage with the audience of the organiser – Gaudeamus festival; works that are created by the audience, or that use audiences as pools of data to be gathered; etc. Works are sought that are a true hybrid of ‘IRL’ (in real life) and digital.
Remote artistic preparation meetings/brainstorms/coding will take place July-August 2022 before working live with your team during Gaudeamus Festival 2022 in Utrecht, The Netherlands from 7-10 September 2022.

There is a total budget of €2400 per team (€800 each ex. BTW), with a limited budget to support your traveling costs and accommodation.
