fabrik moves and TanzWERKSTATT Cottbus are offering residencies for artistic production processes in the field of contemporary dance for periods of 1-4 weeks during April to November 2022 in Cottbus and Potsdam. Professional artists from Brandenburg and neighbouring regions from Europe, Canada and the Mediterranean are invited to apply.
DiR - Dance in Residence Brandenburg is a pilot project of fabrik moves (subcompany of fabrik e.V. Potsdam) and TanzWERKSTATT Cottbus to secure, maintain and sustainably expand new structures, networks and partnerships for dance in Brandenburg. Focal points of the residency programme are:
- Artistic projects that are entirely or partially developed in public / urban space or experiment with urban dance techniques.
- Choreographic works that can be developed in museums or exhibition spaces and/or presented there and/or have a fine arts approach in their theme and working method.
- The exchange of artistic practice and techniques, themes and ways of working between residents and local artists and residents of the host venues.
As part of the residency and according to the project, the organisers offer in Cottbus or Potsdam, for a period of one to four weeks, for up to 3 people:
- Working space in a dance studio.
- Project supervision for work in urban space or with local groups.
- A weekly bursary of 700 EUR per artist.
- Accommodation and travel expenses.
- Networking with local partners.
- Integration into existing programmes of local partners (Brandenburg Museum of Modern Art - Dieselkraftwerk Cottbus, fabrik Potsdam, Kunstverein KunstHaus Potsdam in the framework of the exhibition FIGUR–GRUND II, Tanzwerkstatt Cottbus and others).
- Provision of technical equipment and staff by arrangement.
- Separate remuneration for the realisation of workshops and training.
