The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation is calling for applications for the first edition of their two-year Curatorial Fellowship. This initiative supports mid-year curators and offers them the opportunity to expand their research-oriented exhibition practice. They will have the opportunity to work with the foundation on an exhibition project and to submit proposals for new acquisitions for our collection of contemporary photography, the Art Collection Deutsche Börse.
As part of the collaboration, which will begin in spring 2026 and conclude with the realisation of an exhibition in spring 2028, the selected fellow will engage extensively with the collection, identify narratives and themes, and develop a detailed exhibition concept. Another important part of the programme is to propose new artistic positions for acquisitions that complement, enrich and strengthen both the planned exhibition and the existing collection with new perspectives.
The thematic exhibition, curated in collaboration with the Photography Foundation, will be shown at its premises in Eschborn near Frankfurt and at another photography institution in Europe. Through its collaborative approach and combination of existing and newly acquired works, the exhibition aims to shed new light on the collection and show how it addresses aesthetic, societal, social and political issues through photography.
The Fellowship may be undertaken remotely, with regular online exchange and occasional on-site visits to the Foundation in Eschborn, Germany.
There is a renumeration of 10,000 EUR for both years, plus full coverage of travel costs.
