CreArt: Kaunas Artist-in-Residence Programme 2024 (Lithuania)

CreArt 3.0 partner Artkomas is calling for visual artists for their residency in Kaunas, Lithuania, from 9 May to 16 June 2024.

Artkomas, have extensive experience of organising visual arts projects, and short-term residencies in their city as well as other cities and towns of Lithuania. With their own focus on painting, Artkomas co-operates with experts of other visual arts’ fields, like Lithuanian Artists Asociation, Kaunas Vytautas Magnus University New Media Studies Department, and more.

For the residency they are accepting four visual artists (including painters, photographers or new media artists). Kaunas will make a final public presentation of the artworks created during the residency (a group exhibition of the four artists). The exhibition will be displayed in Kaunas, in co-operation with the Lithuanian Artists. One artwork must remain for Kaunas Art Center.

Artists – born or resident – in any of the cities taking part in ‘CreArt 3.0. Network of Cities for Artistic Creation’ can apply: Kaunas (Lithuania), Liepaja (Latvia), Skopje (North Macedonia), Aveiro (Portugal), Valladolid (Spain), Lublin (Poland), Venice (Italy), Clermont-Ferrand and Rouen (France), Ceske Budejovice (Czech Republic), Oulu (Finland), Regensburg (Germany), Members of HDLU (Croatian Association of Visual Artists), and Ukrainian artists through the collaboration with Public Organisation Lviv Artistic Council ‘Dialogue’.

Preference is given to works with a wide variety and diversity. There is no age limitation, yet it is necessary to have a degree in a field of art (university level). If the applicant does not have a university degree, proof of equivalent ability must be provided through his or her artistic career.

The organisation will provide studio space and accommodation and they will reimburse to artists travel expenses to Kaunas (up to 400 EUR). The selected artists will receive a grant of 400 EUR plus 350 EUR for materials.
