Tanzplattform Bern is an international dance festival and competition for choreographers, with three awards: a Jury Award a commission for Bern Ballett, an Audience Award fellowship for a movement research with Bern Ballett and a Special Award Residency at Residenzzentrum tanz+, Königsfelden (CH).
The chosen choreographers will be invited to perform their entire dance pieces in Bern during one evening (19 or 20 June 2025) and additionally to perform a five-minute excerpt of their piece on the 21 June 2025 (all participants must commit to be available for all these dates, as well as rehearsals, interviews or public relations events in Bern 18–21 of June 2025).
All stylistic approaches to choreography are admitted. Criteria for selection require a clear artistic vision that encompasses professionalism, choreographic quality, a high level of dance performance and innovation. The premiere of the submitted piece should not have taken place before 2021.
The choreography to be submitted has to be between 15 and 30 minutes long, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 performers, without or with reduced stage design.
All choreographers will obtain a performance fee and accommodation and travel costs will be covered.
