The Tiny Spaces project is inviting artists to apply for the 2026 residency programme. The project is focused on exploring methods for more sustainable artist residencies.
6 artists will be selected to take part for one month each between May and August 2026. The residency includes travel on trains and ferries where cabins become tiny creative spaces. Journeys are designed to include stopovers and visits to inspirational cultural organisations. Artist studios in Oulu, Athens and Potsdam are recycled from unused tiny buildings. There will be a group exhibition and symposium in Oulu during August 2026.
The organisers are looking for individual artists working in any medium, at any stage in their career, living in the EU or Creative Europe countries. Applications should demonstrate a commitment to sustainable, site-specific, collaborative and community-focused creative practices.
Each artist receives a fee of 3,000€ for one month, plus travel, accommodation and daily expenses (journeys arranged in collaboration with the hosting partner).
