DRIFT (Dance and Research in the Future Time) is a Creative Europe cooperation project supporting the international development of 10 mid-career choreographers through a structured programme combining artistic research, residencies, mentoring, international showcases and potential co-production and touring opportunities.
This call is dedicated to artistic research and development. Applicants are not expected to present a finished project; rather, DRIFT is looking for artists who wish to invest in a genuine research process.
Selected artists must be available for the following dates:
- 30 November – 1 December 2026: Introductory meeting and pitching session with DRIFT partners and artists in Berlin (Germany)
- 1 November 2026 – 17 September 2027: One Onboarding Lab + two local residencies (2 weeks in total) + three online Lab sessions
- 18–21 March 2027: Participation in the Festival Lab in Tunis (Tunisia)
- 18–25 September 2027: Showcase at the Biennale de la danse, Lyon (France)
The call is open to mid-career choreographers based in Creative Europe eligible countries, with an established artistic practice and a strong interest in research, interdisciplinary collaboration and international development.
Selected artists will receive artistic fees for all DRIFT activities, research support, mentoring, residencies, and showcase participation. Cross-border travel, accommodation and per diems related to the project activities will be fully covered by the project. Selected projects may also benefit from co-production funding and international touring support.
