NEMO – The Network of European Museum Organisations

NEMO offers five travel and conference grants (up to 500 EUR lump sum according to NEMO’s travel grant scheme, including a free conference ticket) for museum professionals located in Southern as well as Central and Eastern Europe

NEMO is inviting proposals from young (museum) professionals based in Europe to suggest formats for its NEMO European Museum Conference ‘Who cares? Museums, wellbeing and resilience’, taking place from 26 to 28 October 2025 in Horsens, Denmark.

NEMO has two travel grant opportunities available to the NEMO European Museum Conference ‘Can we talk? Museums facing polarisation’. Five young museum professionals and five museum professionals located in South and Central-Eastern Europe will be awarded a travel grant and free participation at the conference, which takes place from 10 to 12 November 2024 in Sibiu, Romania.

NEMO has issued a call for participation to encourage increased participation of museum colleagues from Central-Eastern Europe to join the NEMO European Museum Conference 2023. The call is targeted at museum professionals active in Central-Eastern Europe who have an interest in the topic of sustainability and climate action as well as a commitment to European collaboration and enthusiasm for international networking.

NEMO is looking for seven professionals from across Europe to take part in a self-evaluation exercise in Riga, Latvia, from 23-25 November 2022.

NEMO is looking for five professionals from across Europe to take part in its conference (‘Innovation begins within - Resilient museums in times of disruption’) in Loulé, Portugal from 9-11 October 2022, and in an associated meeting as part of the ‘MOI! Museum of Impact’ project.

Museum professionals are invited to apply to the training ‘Who’s afraid of decolonisation?’, organised by NEMO and hosted by the UK Museums Association, SS Great Britain, and Bristol Museums. The training takes place on 16 September 2022 in Bristol, the United Kingdom. People connected to NEMO member organisations are eligible for travel grants.
