Title of the call on a coloured background.

Verein K has announced the call for applications for the residency programme Visiting Curators Vienna 2026. For its eighth edition, four international mid-career curators will be selected based on the quality of their previous work and the strength and relevance of the exhibition project(s) they submit.

Selected curators will spend ten days in Vienna (16–25 November 2026), engaging directly with artists, institutions, independent spaces, and cultural practitioners. The aim is to foster meaningful international connections and create sustainable opportunities for artists based in Austria.

The programme offers tailored introductions to artists, curators, gallerists, and institutions as well as assistance in arranging meetings and visits, including studio visits, meetings with independent art spaces and collections, guided visits to selected exhibitions, and strategic support in developing long-term collaborations.

The programme welcomes curators who:

  • Have realised exhibitions in museums and/or other professional art institutions
  • Are planning one or more exhibitions within the next two years outside Austria that includes one or more artists based in Austria
  • Are interested in expanding their international network and developing lasting collaborations

Travel and accommodation costs, as well as per diems, will be covered by Verein K.
