As part of their mobility program MAP, Pépinières Européennes de Création and the Quebec Co-operative Méduse are launching a call for applications for two residencies in Quebec City supporting writing, curatorial, research-creation, or production projects in one or more disciplines of the visual and media/digital arts. The residencies will take place January-March 2021 and April-June 2021.
Méduse is a unique structure in North America. A cooperative of artistic, cultural and community producers and disseminators, it opened its doors in 1995. Its 4000m2 building complex, located in the St. Roch District, at the heart of Downtown Québec City, includes ten autonomous non-profit organisations leading the way in contemporary arts. They have distinct, complementary missions. Through its member organizations, Méduse gives artists access to high-end production and dissemination spaces and equipment. The cooperative is a major hub for the production and dissemination of contemporary arts in Canada.
Offered:
-
3 months accommodation in single occupancy in nearby accommodation.
-
Production allowance: CA$ 6000 (~4000 EUR).
-
Access to coop member rates for equipment rentals and services.
-
Promotion of the residency.
-
Organisation of artist talks or public presentations.
-
Production of a short video clip documenting the residency and/or the project.
The call is primarily aimed at emerging artists, and artists must hold a citizenship other than Canadian.
