    News / Woodhaven Artist in Residence Programme (Canada)

    This year the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies at the University of British Colombia’s Woodhaven Artist in Residence Programme is open to creative writers working in any genre. Artists will stay between 4 – 8 weeks at the FCCS’ Woodhaven Eco Culture Centre between 1 June – 31 August 2021. The residency is open to Canadian and international writers.

    The largest performing arts festival in North America, Festival TransAmériques is a driving force for the presentation of contemporary dance and theatre. Delving deep into those artistic disciplines, the FTA probes their limits in its quest for bold, outstanding artistic voices. Reporting to the Board of Directors and in close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Artistic Director defines the artistic vision of the organization and develops its annual program and all related activities.

  • News / Pépinières Européennes de Création / Méduse > International Residency for Visual and Media/Digital Arts

    Pépinières Européennes de Création and the Quebec Co-operative Méduse are launching a call for applications for two residencies supporting writing, curatorial, research-creation, or production projects in one or more disciplines of the visual and media/digital arts. The residencies will take place January-March 2021 and April-June 2021 in Quebec City. The call is primarily aimed at emerging artists, and artists must hold a citizenship other than Canadian.   • News / Contemporary Calgary > Open Call for In-Residence Artist Residency

    In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Contemporary Calgary’s latest Collider residency will be run as an experimental In-Residence Artist Residency, facilitated via virtual interactions and workshops, running 4 May – 15 June 2020. In-Residence artists will realise at least one individual work, one public programme that the artist is expected to execute, and one work developed collaboratively with other residents. Applications are welcome from local, national and international contemporary artists, working in the fields of visual art, arts writing, sound, film, photography, design and performance. Deadline: 15 April 2020.

  • News / Critical Mass > Artist in Residence Programme for Socially Engaged Artists

    Critical Mass, a contemporary art centre based in Port Hope, is offering socially engaged contemporary artists a paid two- or four-week residency. Residencies will take place in the organisation’s Little Station (a mid-1850s former train station) between 15 April – 15 October 2020. ‘Environment’ is the chosen theme of the 2020 programme. Canadian or international artists are invited to apply, and applications can come from individuals or groups. Deadline: 28 February 2020.

  • News / Mitchell Art Gallery > Summer Artist Residency

    Mitchell Art Gallery is inviting Canadian and international artists to apply for the second year of the MAG Summer Residency programme. Applicants with interdisciplinary, non-traditional creative practices are encouraged to apply. The residency runs for four to six weeks, taking place between 15 May – 15 August 2020. The residency works to support an artist with space and time to initiate or further a body of work, and bridge their practice with a local community. Deadline: 1 March 2020.
