‘Multimedia and Relational Arts’ is the Digital Manufacturing Summer School and creative residencies 2022. The main goal of the project is to train young artists under 35 by promoting new productions strongly connected with the stories of production realities of their working areas.
Theater, dance, video, multimedia installations are expressive languages that can be used to narrate corporate identities, good practices of production, artisan workshops memories, as well as enhancing and upgrading through performativity the production spaces.
The project is aimed at artists under 35 residing in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy and internationally. It is aimed at individual artists, informal groups, companies, who intend to participate in an international training course with the support of professionals in the performing, relational and multimedia arts.
The participants can apply either for the Summer School only or for the full training programme, which includes both the Summer School and the artistic residencies.
Summer School: The first phase of the program, from 25 to 28 August 2022, includes the Summer School entitled ‘Multimedia and Relational Arts’, which will take place in Gorizia, the city jointly chosen with Nova Gorica as European Capital of Culture 2025. The Summer School offers both theoretical lessons and workshops, among them Rimini Protokoll - Berlin, Kepler 452 - Bologna, Creea - Udine, PiNa - Koper, prof. Fabrizio Panozzo - Ca ‘Foscari University of Venice (Artistic Management), expert in city management and place marketing. The young artists will be introduced to the town of Gorizia by Via Rastello organisation and some of the Via Rastello shops owners. As coverage of out-of-pocket expenses for hospitality (food, transport and / or accommodation) each participant in the Summer School resident in Friuli Venezia Giulia receives a support of € 150.00 gross, if resident outside the Region € 350.00 gross.
Creative Residencies: The second phase of the program, from 29 August to 4 September 2022, involves the selection and development of four projects with the tutoring by Invasioni Creative - Turin / Udine, Via Rastello organisation - Gorizia and Media Art Friesland - Leeuwarden. A site-specific artistic residency focusing on Via Rastello, one of the oldest Gorizian streets enriched by its urban scenography with same of the most traditional artisan shops in Gorizia. The residency involves 4 artists (individuals or groups) who will first take part in the Summer School and then will develop an original artwork connected with one of the Via Rastello shops. Digital Manufacturing offers a scholarship to all 4 artists (individuals or groups) as coverage of out-of-pocket expenses for hospitality (food, transport and / or accommodation). Each guest artist (individual or group) in the Digital Manufacturing Summer School + residency resident in Friuli Venezia Giulia receives a support of € 800.00 gross, if guest artist (individual or group) resident outside the Region € 1350.00 gross.
