Delfina Foundation has announced a new open call for artists based in the United States and Canada whose practice centres on new media.
New media describes art made using digital technologies that have emerged since the late 1980s, including the internet, software, interactive systems, video, audio, and networked platforms. It encompasses both the production and distribution of art through digital means, and work that critically engages with the social and cultural implications of those technologies. New media is less defined by a single medium than by its relationship to computation, connectivity, and the conditions of contemporary life.
Supported by Lonti Ebers, this opportunity forms part of a new series of annual residencies in London for the next four years, delivered through separate open calls. This inaugural call is focused on new media artists based in the United States and Canada for a residency in winter 2027 (4 Jan to 25 March).
The programme offers a twelve-week residency at Delfina Foundation, including:
- A return economy-class flight
- Airport transfers in the UK
- Reimbursement of visa fees (if required)
- A living allowance of 40 GBP per day
- A materials budget of 1,200 GBP
- A travel pass for London’s public transport network
- A single bedroom with a desk at Delfina Foundation
