The main objective of BKN (Björkö Konstnod) is to provide an opportunity to focus on artistic practice while experiencing life in the Northern Archipelago of Stockholm - a peaceful rural milieu where the sea meets the forest, fields, and lakes.
MAGNITUDE, BKN’s process based residency, is offering grants to two international artists selected by open call, who will join two invited artists and a fifth based in Sweden for a 6-8 week programme in August – September 2022.
The aim of MAGNITUDE is to explore production inspired directly by being nurtured by nature. The artists on site contribute to forming a working group, finding ways of collaborating or creating individual work. The residency practice is situated around a sustainable practice.
The organisers provide a stipend of 20,000 SEK (1900 EUR), plus an individual studio and accommodation, limited travel and materials budget, and select shared meals.
