Inspired by Nuit Blanche arts events from around the world, the Detroit festival DLECTRICITY (running 25-26 September 2020), is open to proposals for projects that illuminate the city landscape, ‘from lasers and 3D mapping to dance performances and large-scale video projections’. Applications are invited worldwide and welcomed from all artforms and disciplines. Deadline: 3 March 2020.

LACMA – Los Angeles Country Museum of Art’s Art’s Technology Lab supports artists to pursue new directions in their work that explore ideas in technology and culture. In addition to a grant, artists receive advice and assistance from the museum and from their technology advisors including innovation leaders from Hyundai, Accenture, Snap Inc., SpaceX, Google, Jet Propulsion Laboratories, and the MIT Media Lab’s Space Exploration Initiative. The grants are open to individuals and collectives located anywhere in the world. Deadline: 25 February 2020.

Vera List Center Fellowships support individuals whose work advances the discourse on art and politics. For 2020-2022, three non-residential, two-year fellowships will be awarded to support scholarly and creative work that critically engages with the Center’s 2020-2022 biennial focus theme ‘As for Protocols’. Journalists, scholars, activists, visual and performing artists, critics, public intellectuals, curators, and cultural practitioners from around the world are invited to apply. ThoughtWorks, a global software consultancy with an arts residency based in New York City, seeks an artist/technologist who works in their art practice with issues of synthetic media and deepfakes. This sixteen-week residency runs from 4 May to 21 August 2020. Applications are invited internationally. Deadline: 5 March 2020.

apexart have launched an open call for artists, curators, and other professionals who want to turn their idea into an exhibition at their gallery in New York. Proposals are invited from anywhere in the world, except for New York City itself. Winning proposals will become part of apexart’s 2020-21 Exhibition Season and receive production funding and significant production support. There is no set theme, but the exhibition can’t be a solo exhibition or ‘artist project’. Deadline: 1 March 2020.
