The Saudi Visual Arts Commission announces the open call for Cycle 2 of the Third Edition of Intermix Residency, a fully funded, three-month art residency program based at JAX District, Diriyah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Initiated by the Visual Arts Commission in collaboration with the Fashion Commission of the Ministry of Culture, the Intermix Residency Programme is a fully funded multi-cycle artist residency programme located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Te Intermix Residency Programme in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia welcomes applications by Saudi and international emerging and mid-career visual artists, fashion designers, and curators aged 21 or above who are willing to develop a production or research-based project related to the topics of innovation, transformation, and sustainability. Residencies will take place from 22 October 2023 – 4 January 2024.

The ‘Intermix Residency | Art & Fashion Reimagined’ programme offers visual artists and fashion designers the opportunity to collaborate in an experimental environment to support creative development and skill set expansion. The second cycle of the residency programme will run virtually from 4-18 December 2022 and on-site from 4 January - 28 February 2023.

Art Residency | Albalad is a residency programme in the vibrant, historical district of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Both research and production residencies are available, with residents invited to draw inspiration from a city with a deeply rooted, yet little explored, history. Residencies run from March - October 2022 in a series of six-week cycles. Applications are open to Saudi-based and international artists, curators, art writers, historians and critics.
