The European Theatre Convention (ETC) is looking for a strategic communicator with strong political and cultural literacy, who understands both the European institutional landscape and the realities of public theatre.

ETC are looking for a Digital Communication Officer to further develop and implement their communication strategy and project communication campaigns. ETC offer a full-time unlimited employment contract, flexible working hours, 40h per week, and a work space with an office at the heart of Berlin, in one of Germany’s major theatres. The position is to be filled by 15 February 2023.

Founded in 1988 by three theatres in France, Germany and Belgium, the European Theatre Convention (ETC) has become Europe’s largest network for public theatres with 54 members from 30 countries. As part of a dynamic and small team, the Digital Communication Officer will be key to further developing and implementing ETC’s communication strategy and project-specific communication campaigns.

The fourth edition of the ETC Artist Residency Programme offers scholarships of 4 to 8 weeks at ETC Member Theatres. As announced in a press release on 11 September, ETC dedicates its Artist Residency Programme 2021 to emerging Hungarian theatre professionals, in solidarity with the students and professors of the University of Theatre and Film Arts (SZFE) in Budapest.

This year the European Theatre Academy will take place online, 2-6 July 2020. The Academy is specifically designed for theatre professionals at the beginning of their careers, with potential and ambition to grow internationally. It will provide an overview of different international collaboration forms and theatre systems, dealing with artistic as well as administrative, financial and legal questions in the European context. Applications are open to participants of varying professional profiles, from independent companies and institutional theatres across Europe. Deadline: 11 May 2020.
