Based in Key West, Florida, the Studios of Key West offers studio space, lectures, workshops, residencies, and partnership projects to nurture the creation of work.
Each year, the Tom Majors Fund brings world class artists to Key West who work wholly or in part with wood, and supports the ones in the area already doing so. It celebrates the medium’s expressive potential, and its unique ability to narrate and illuminate our relationship to the natural world. The Fund is established in honour and recognition of Tom Majors, a builder of things large and small, by Angie Majors and Linda Downs.
Proposals are sought for programmes to take place October 2020 - June 2021. Programmes should include a public component – e.g. an exhibition, workshop, lecture or some combination – but may include the creation of new work. One or more programmes will be awarded budgets ranging $500 - $10,000. Funds may be used for any purpose, including artist fees, travel, housing, supplies and equipment.
