Southnord: Residency 2026 for Afro-Nordic Visual Artists and Curators (Zambia)

The Southnord Residency Programme is an opportunity for visual artists and curators of African descent situated in the Nordics to spend time with their practices, while immersed in a contemporary African art context. This programme aims to make space for artistic exchange between the Afro-Nordic diaspora and the Continent.

The residency is at Lusaka Contemporary Art Centre (LuCAC) in Zambia for two months between October 2026 and January 2027. It is open to visual artists and curators of African descent situated in the Nordics.

Selected artists will receive:

  • Air tickets and accommodation, covered by Southnord
  • Access to studio space at LuCAC
  • Monthly stipend for living expenses
  • Opportunity to present their work during the residency
