Taepyung Salt Farm X LAMPLAB seeks artists to submit entries for the juried exhibition, ‘Art Like Salt’. The winners will be chosen to participate in a residency programme in Shinan, designated a ‘Slow City’, in South Jeolla Province, South Korea, with the opportunity to create work in any of the following formats: photography, video, installation, sculpture or sound, with the theme of ‘Anticipation for the Future’.
‘Our ability to anticipate the future became an indispensable skill for us to survive. However, our rate of success has been much lower than we hoped. It’s more like we hope for the best rather than predict the future. For whom and what should we pray when we are now living in an age human and machines coexist? We are seeking for the artist who would look for answers together in Jeungdo, where time flows slowly in Korea, where everything changes so rapidly.’
The Winner of the Year (an individual or group) will have the opportunity to participate in a residency programme for 12 weeks between June and November 2020. (RV in a leisure park will be provided)
The artworks of the winner will be exhibited at the Salt Museum located in Jeungdo, South Korea, for five weeks between June 2020 and November 2020.
The winner also win a prize of 5,000,000 KRW before tax (~3750 EUR), and receive 500,000 KRW before tax (~375 EUR) every 4 weeks up to 3 times for general expense, and travel expenses (Europe North and South America Africa - 1,200,000 KRW (~900 EUR); Asia and other countries – 700,000 KRW (~525 EUR), before tax).
