Gasworks: 2026 Residency for Early-career Artists Based in Central America (UK)

This Gasworks residency open call is for an early-career artist based in Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama). The 11-week, fully funded residency will take place at Gasworks in London from 7 January – 23 March 2026.

The residencies programme supports professional development, cultural exchange, and artistic experimentation. The residency hosts up to 20 residencies each year, bringing artists from all over the world to London. All residencies are self-led, non-prescriptive and process-based; they are about enabling artists to research and develop new work, engage with the city, and build their networks.

Gasworks provides administrative, pastoral, and curatorial support throughout the residency, but thy expect residents to be self-motivated, and to lead on the research and production of their own work.

This residency is supported by the Shelagh Wakely Bequest, administered by The Elephant Trust.

Artists will receive accommodation, return economy flights, vias costs and support, a weekly stipend of 150 GBP to cover living expenses in London, a materials budget of up to 800 GBP, a prepaid travel card.
