Ferrara Off is calling for applications from performing arts companies/artists for their BONSAI Festival programming, which will be held in spring–summer 2026.
Although the Festival is predominantly theatrical, the proposed micro-review can host different genres. Each candidate is asked to propose a programme with three events (possibly consecutive), including their own show and two productions by other companies/artists they know.
One of the three shows can be created during a 7–10 days artistic residency at Ferrara Off (during which the production can be created from scratch or just finalised). Given the history of the Festival, preference will be given to micro-theatre and three-shows; programmes that can be showcased – in terms of duration – in a single day/night.
Preference will be given to companies and artists under 35 (80% under 35 in the case of collectives/companies).
Ferrara Off offers:
- hospitality for artists and technicians involved in the micro-review
- technical equipment of the theatre
- conceptual, logistical and organisational support
- budget for the event between 2,000 EUR and 6,000 EUR + VAT
- online and print communication activities
