ENCC: Lights On 2026 ‘Reimagining Democracy’ (Finland)

Lights On is ENCC – European Network of Cultural Centres’ flagship training and work exchange programme for culture professionals under 35. It involves a five-day immersive training followed by a period of work exchange in a partner organisation.

Lights On 2026 invites applicants to embark on a transformative journey: a five-day seminar in Tampere, Finland, from 4 May till 8 May 2026, hosted by the Association of Children’s Culture in Finland, followed by a seven-day staff exchange programme with one of the other participant organisations. This training is not just an opportunity, it’s a call to action for young socio-cultural workers passionate about building inclusive and cohesive societies, interested in learning from peers and willing to broaden perspectives and experiment with new approaches.

Activities calendar:

  • 13 April 2026: Online preparatory meeting.
  • April 2026: Preparatory work before the training (a maximum of 4 hours in total).
  • 4–8 May 2026: Lights On training in Finland.
  • 1 June–31 October 2026: A minimum of 7 days for exchanges.
  • November: Report and evaluation.

ENCC covers international travel only for members for the training in Finland, and contributes to international travel for both members and non-members for the staff exchange. Where travel is covered the standard budget is 150 – 200 EUR, rising to 300 EUR for sustainable travel.
