ECHOES: European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage Cascading Grants Second Call – Engagement and Collaboration

Text of the call on a blue background.

The application portal is now open for European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH) Cascading Grants, offering a unique funding opportunity for museum umbrella organisations and cultural heritage networks to lead collaborative projects aimed at strengthening the sector’s digital capacity.

The call is part of a broader effort to build and expand the ECCCH — a shared digital infrastructure for cultural heritage — in collaboration with NEMO - Network of European Museum Organisations and partners. This initiative seeks to promote engagement with ECCCH, especially among smaller and medium-sized Cultural Heritage Institutions (CHIs) across Europe.

The funding supports a variety of activities intended to boost digital skills, capacity building and community expansion. Eligible projects may include digital or in-person workshops, webinars, and online courses; production of training materials such as toolkits, manuals or guidelines; info events to raise awareness about ECCCH benefits; sector surveys; help-desks providing tailored support; or creative formats such as hackathons, co-design or co-creation sessions.

Eligibility is restricted to museum umbrella organisations and cultural heritage networks (or other professional organisations) that are capable of mobilising a broad geographical spread of CHIs. The call particularly targets consortia that can reach small and medium-sized CHIs, including museums, archives, libraries, heritage sites, especially institutions working with tangible and/or intangible heritage across Europe. Networks with a formal membership structure and fee-paying members are especially encouraged to apply.

Each selected project may receive up to 29,800 EUR. A total of 20 initiatives will be funded under this call. The grant is intended to cover the costs of the activities outlined (workshops, training materials, events, support services, etc.) in order to facilitate capacity building, mobility, collaboration and the adoption of ECCCH across the cultural heritage sector.
