CRL – Central Elétrica is looking for artistic proposals from young creators in performative arts to be part of VOLTS – International Encounter for Performative Arts, in 2023 in Porto, Portugal.
VOLTS aims to foster dialogue, exchange and experimentation. It wants to find new ways of being from the notion of Transoceanic Confluences, and reflects various questions: the results of confluences between objects, living organisms, languages and knowledge; the epistemological differences between the traditions of the Global North and South; the conceptualisation of the individual, the space, landscape and territory; the post-human and ecocritical perspectives facing the transoceanic worlds, insular and peninsular; and the cultural productions that are born in these contexts.
VOLTS will happen from 31 August – 2 September 2023 and the selected artists/collectives must be from the member countries of the Iberescena Program, excluding Portugal: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
Two selected works will receive financial support (up to a maximum of 1500€ per presentation), upon delivery of an invoice/receipt, as well as support regarding transport (up to a maximum of 3 people), accommodations and subsistence.
