Residencia artística PATRIM 4.0 at the Caserío Museo Igartubeiti is an open call for artists to participate in a thematic residency rooted in rural heritage and intergenerational exchange. The call invites proposals that explore contemporary reinterpretations of rural narratives and foster dialogue between ancestral knowledge and current artistic practice, within the unique context of Ezkio, Gipuzkoa (Basque Country). The residency will take place from 2 to 29 March 2026.
Organised by the Caserío Museo Igartubeiti within the framework of the PATRIM 4.0 network, the initiative aims to reinforce the cultural, social and economic value of heritage and sustainable tourism in rural areas.
This opportunity supports the development and realisation of in situ artistic projects that engage with territory, landscape and community, emphasising intergenerational connections and local cultural imaginaries. Projects should include a mediation plan involving local audiences and schools.
Applicants may submit a single, original proposal either individually or as a collective. Eligible disciplines include visual arts, audiovisual work, installation, Land Art, photography, sound, anthropology, research, sculpture, performance and other practices centred on the dialogue between artist and territory.
The residency provides an artist fee of 2,200 EUR, a budget of 1,200 EUR for per diems and travel (including return travel to the residency location), and a production budget of 2,000 EUR (subject to eligible expenses). Accommodation is provided, and local infrastructure and technical support (including workspace and basic equipment) are available through the museum and partner creative centres. Displacements required for the residency will be covered and managed by the organisers.
