Arc Bucharest invites international curators to immerse themselves in the art scenes of Bucharest and other art centres across Romania through its curatorial visiting programme. The programme is open to both independent curators and those working in institutions, offering a tailor-made programme centred on each visitor’s practice, interests, and future projects.
The visits are fully funded and typically last between 6 and 12 days, with the option to explore other art hubs such as Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, or Iași, depending on each curator’s objectives and the available mobility budget.
The visiting programme is open for curators:
- who live and work outside Romania
- of all nationalities
- with at least 5 years of sustained curatorial practice
- who manifest genuine interest in the Romanian art context or/and prove likelihood of future collaborations with local artists, art professionals, or organisations
The selected visiting curators will benefit from:
- a tailor-made programme that includes studio visits with artists, meetings with peer professionals and attendance to exhibitions, performances, and other art events
- round-trip international airfare to and from Romania
- accommodation in central and easily accessible locations
- a per diem of 20 EUR
- coverage of internal travel costs, if applicable
