The Odyssée programme is aimed at foreign artists, researchers and cultural professionals who aren’t living in France and who want to develop projects within French cultural centres located at heritage sites. Each CCR has its own and unique artistic and cultural identity, and submitted projects must address the specificities of the selected CCR.
To date, more than 700 artists from over 79 different countries have taken part in the programme, developing projects in different areas such as music, architecture, arts and crafts, visual arts, dramatic writing, novel writing, scriptwriting, animated film-making, photography and journalism.
Periods of residency can last 1-6 months.
Selected residents receive:
- 1200€ per month.
- Reimbursement of travel costs (up to a level determined by the distance between country of residence and the CCR).
- Accommodation and meals (some centres offer this on-site; others reimburse within a certain limit).
- Whenever possible, the CCR will provide the material necessary for their residency project.
