How accessible - or inaccessible is performing arts education in Europe for disabled artists and cultural workers?
The new report LEARNING TO CHANGE, The Role of Educational Institutions in Fostering Accessibility for Disabled Artists and Culture Professionals in Europe, commissioned to On the Move by Skånes Dansteater in the context of Europe Beyond Access with the support of the British Council, investigates the accessibility barriers in higher education institutions across Creative Europe countries and the UK.
Based on surveys, interviews, and focus groups with disabled artists, higher education institutions, and cultural organisations, the report reveals both challenges and promising practices to shift from individual goodwill to systemic change.
On the Move coordinated the research with three main authors: Jordi Baltà Portolés, Konrad Wolf and Sophie Dowden.
